Book Review: Hand of Fate by Lis Wiehl

BOOK REVIEW:
The Hand of Fate, a popular radio show, has just lost its host due to a poisonous gas.  In the city wide panic that follows his death finding those responsible become a top priority for the triple threat group of friends- an FBI Special Agent, a crime reporter and a Federal Prosecutor.  The three friends band together to find a killer, understand the motive and overcome a betrayal of a team member.

I enjoyed that the story took off running.  I liked the fast pace of the beginning of the book.  The chapters are labeled with the setting for each chapter, which helped me following along better.  I enjoyed the way that the three women’s careers interwove with each other and each was an important part of the plotline.  The ending was a little abrupt but was a decent twist in the plot.

I found the novel to have a good overall message and was careful to weave in the message within the story without hitting you over the head with it.

I had not read the previous triple threat book and felt that I was missing some pieces of information that would have been helpful in fully understanding the characters, but the book was still enjoyable without that information.  While I didn’t find it a major page turner, I would recommend it to someone looking for a mystery with constant action and characters that you grow to like.  (Thomas Nelson provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes.)

  1. I'm a big whodunit fan, but haven't had the chance to read any books by Lis Wiehl. From your review, this series sounds pretty intriguing. Will check it out.

There's an award waiting for you at my blog, Heather :).
