Do It Anyway

It is the evening before Easter.  Not the bunny easter.  The saving easter.  The day that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

The following quotation/writing is something that I found a few years ago, printed out and have had posted somewhere in my room since.  I find this a great reminder of how I want to live my life.  Do I always succeed?  No, I don't.  But I try.  And when I fail I stop, take a breath, say a prayer, and try again.

This version of the "Paradoxical Commandments" has been attributed to Mother Theresa:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may cheat and deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

  2. I love this! My parents used to have it framed on their bedroom wall. I read it often as child.

Hope you have a blessed day. :)
