Standing Up For You

If you are a follower of this blog then you know that my mantra is living life because time waits for no one.    I first started this blog a year and a half ago (well I'm off by a couple days but close enough).  The whole point, as I look back, was to learn lessons and share those lessons with others.

I'm no expert, just an ordinary person setting out to take back her life.  As I typed that the phrasing seems weird, but that's really what I'm doing.  I'm taking it back.  One slowly learned lesson at a time.

The lesson that I am currently realizing I need to learn is to stand up for myself.  No one can know what you need more than you.  If you need a break from something, if you need 'me' time, if you need an adventure, if you need to get together with friends... you know it.  But you need to say it.

As the summer children's program I was working at has ended, my grad classes feel as though they are getting tougher.  There's a book club that I have not read for in awhile.  I'm still job hunting.  And I leave a week from today for a mission trip with a group of high school students from church (I'm a chaperone, can you believe that!?).

I'm realizing that I've committed to a lot this summer.  There is a lot going on.  And sometimes I lose myself.  I lose myself in the to-do lists I make.  In the homework to be accomplished.  In the errands to be run.  In the job applications being filled out.

So, the lesson I need to work on?  Stand up for you.  Well, me.

Remember to live the best you can.  Love the most you can.  Tell the people that you love, you love them.  Take a break and soak up the sun.
Moments are precious, many things can wait... The Sunset Won't.
