Let's Get Reading

I've started my new job as a reading teacher.  More to come later.

But I have a few questions for you...

What is your favorite book?  That book you can read over and over again.
Mine is called Bamboo and Lace and is by Christian fiction author Lori Wick.

What book are you currently reading?
I'm currently reading a YA book called All-American Girl.

What book is next in line to be read?
I think I may read "Don't Look Back" next by Lynette Eason.

Do you read more than one book at a time?
I do.  Partly because of my job.  I usually have a YA novel, a novel for me, an informational sort of book and a bible study/my bible all being read at once.  That changes if I'm really busy or taking a class.  Then I read fewer books at once.

Remember, life is short.  So make mistakes.
Learn lessons.  Live life the best you can, live it to the fullest.
Because many things in life can wait... but The Sunset Won't.

  1. Hey there, congrats on your job as a reading teacher. I hope you love it. And I would be honored if you'd read Don't Look Back and let me know what you think about it!

    God Bless,
    Lynette Eason

  2. Great post! My favorite re-read book is The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory. MUCH better than the film adaptation (as usual). I'm currently reading Tina Fey's autobiography Bossypants, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, and also Band of Brothers. The first two for fun, the last for a study abroad course. Next in line is another study abroad book called D-Day. And obviously, I answered the last question! Ha! :)

  3. Ms. Eason- I loved Too Close to Home, and I need to find out what happens next in Don't Look Back. I had just started the first one, when I had to run to the store to make sure I had the second. I love when a book can mix Christian values, romance and a little mystery/suspense all in one!

Bea- I haven't read The Other Boleyn Girl I may need to give that a try. Bossypants is on my list to read. Oh how I love Band of Brothers. I haven't read it, but that is my favorite mini-series. Glad to find others who share my love of reading.

  4. My favorite book... this is tough, but I think I'll go with Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. That was the first of his works that I read and I love his imagery. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is a close second.

I'm currently reading the YA book An Abundance of Katherines by John Green and it's excellent.

Next in are The Fault in Our Stars - John Green's latest book, just came out on 1/10 - and The Nerdist by Chris Hardwick because I've been loving the podcast hard lately and got tix to go see it when the tour comes to town in March.

I suppose yes as of late because I usually have a textbook for school and something for pleasure. I have done up to 4 at a time, but I find myself favoring one title usually, so the others tend to get finished later :)
