Happy Secret Challenge: Day 10

I am creating/participating in a Happy Secret Challenge inspired by a TED video I recently watched.

I've made it one week, and my goal for the next 14 days is to write three gratitudes and to journal/write about one positive experience from the day.  The gratitudes can be trivial or deep.  And even on the toughest of days there is at least ONE thing that is positive or goes well.

Gratitude: thankfulness, gratefulness or appreciation;
a feeling or attitude in recognition of a benefit that someone has received.

The goal is to retrain your brain to begin to look for the positives instead of the negatives.  There are other pieces to the challenge as well but for today we start with these two:

Three Gratitudes:
28. I am grateful for brilliant and dedicated medical professionals who create pain killers and muscle relaxants.  Because let me tell you, migraines would suck without them.

29. I am grateful to have friends that (hopefully) understand when plans have to be cancelled due to said migraines.

30. I appreciate the news reporters that have covered (at least on the channels I've seen) the Sandy Hook tragedy with poise, professionalism, humanism, and grace.  I could not do what they do, see the things that they see and be able to articulate that each night.  Thank you for bringing not only America, but the world, closer together as we collectively grieve for the families of the victims, feel their loss, and search for unattainable answers to questions that we never wanted to have to ask.

I am grateful.

One Positive From The Last 24 Hours:
I baked my famous sugar cookies today.  I got two batches made in less than an hour and a half.  I then recruited my parents to help me frost them so we could get that done quicker.  100 frosted sugar cookies later we sat down to re-watch last years Downton Abbey Christmas Special.
