Book Review: A Jane Austen Devotional

A Jane Austen Devotional by Thomas Nelson is a wonderful devotional for fans of Jane Austen.  Blending scripture and approximately 100 excerpts from Austen's greatest novels this devotional would be a great addition to daily devotional time.

For over 200 years people have been reading Jane Austen's novels Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park and Emma.

Discussing themes like "Vanity's Folly," Unhealthy Friendships, Evaluating Your Focus, Stirring Up Trouble, Letting Go of Worry, Unhealthy Persuasion, Forsaking the Long-Term Prize and more this was a wonderful twist on classic themes in the lives of Christians today.

Taking a few minutes out of each day to spend time both in scripture and the novels of Jane Austen is a wonderful break from the day to day stresses.

I received an ebook copy of this devotional for review purposes.  The copy was a temporary one and this is definitely a book I will be purchasing when it is released.  This book will be available for purchase on January 10th, 2012.

(A complimentary copy of this ebook was provided to me through NetGalley for review purposes.)
